Project Lead

Hussain is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Design at Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. As a researcher, Hussain has presented her work at national and international conferences, and published it internationally as well. Her current interests include the re-examination of Design Education, its conception and evolution, in the Pakistani context, whilst exploring the possibilities of design as an active contributor to the socio-cultural and political landscape. Hussain received a Bachelors degree in Communication Design from Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, and a Masters in New Media and Society from the University of Leicester, UK.

Dr. Hussain Abaza

Monitoring & Evaluation

Dr. Abaza is the Undergraduate Program Coordinator at the Construction management Department. He has more than 15 years of construction field experience in the US and overseas. Abaza’s academic resume includes more than 15 years of teaching and research experience. He obtained grants from Federal, State, University, and Private sector and has to his credit three books, many journal articles and conference presentations.
He is currently teaching Advanced Estimating and Scheduling graduate courses as well as undergraduate courses related to Computer Applications in Constructions Sustainability, MEP, and Blue Print reading. Dr. Abaza also oversees the preparation and maintenance of the ACCE accreditation documents for the Construction Department.

A professional photographer for over 30 years, Farah Mahbub has established an international reputation as both teacher and practitioner of the fine art photographic medium. She joined the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture in 1997 as a faculty member, where she has been ever since. Under her tenure, photography has evolved from a single class into an undergraduate minor, and finally into a major media subject in the Communication Design Department.

Dr. Hankey earned her PhD in Technical Communication and Rhetoric from Texas Tech University in 2021. She is a Lecturer at Kennesaw State University located in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia. Her research explores journey maps as user experience (UX) research tools. Although journey maps can be computer-generated or hand-drawn, Dr. Hankey focuses on how users use their human capacity to sketch ideas and combine them with verbal language to communicate their experiences. She is deeply fascinated by the nature of form and structure, of transformation and permutation. Her research and creative interests span the connections between text and image, virtual and material structures, labyrinths, fairy tales, metamorphoses, and hybridity. Noman Bhatti

Bhatti is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication Design at Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. His experience in media includes set designing, script writing, 3D-animation, non-linear editing, cinematography, lighting and direction among others. With an undergraduate in Fine Arts, followed by a Masters in filmmaking from Kingston University, London, Bhatti has a professional experience of almost 20 years ranging from Fine Art, photography and film, to interior and fashion. Because of his wide exposure, Bhatti brings an extensive wealth of multidisciplinary approach to his teaching pedagogy.

Khan is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication Design at IVS. He specializes in analogue drawing and illustration with a focus on storytelling as an essential component of illustration.
Khan has an active illustration practice spanning nearly two decades. His academic contributions include designing curriculums for illustration, art and drawing for multiple institutes in Karachi.
