I had the privilege of attending the “Visualizing Research” workshop conducted by Dr. Leslie Hankey, through the Justuju faculty development program. Dr. Hankey is an amazing instructor who taught in detail about the methodologies we, as pedagogues, can utilize in our own practice. Thorough information was provided in context to research while teaching, ideational drawing, and UX journey maps. Like many of the participants, I too enjoyed the activity of creating a personal journey map, allowing me to share my experiences through rhetoric (language and symbols) I wish Dr. Hankey the very best and look forward to learning from her in the future.

The Visualizing Research Workshop taught by Dr Leslie Hankey for Justuju over a 2 hour Zoom session, was not just enlightening but also very useful to my design practice. Dr Leslie was able to cover THREE main topics namely: 1. Research while teaching, 2. Ideational drawing, and 3. UX journey maps. She spoke about what rhetoric is and how journey maps can help solve a design problem. She also shared some of the reading resources as well as analogue and digital tools that would help us accomplish this.
